One word: Amazing. With posts like this you make me proud to be a teacher. I hope some of what you wrote will stick with you after this year and maybe you can tell others about what you've learned.
One correction: Landfills are not good. Even when they're covered up to make parks, they still release bad greenhouse gasses and the lechate (garbage water) contaminates the water around it. So the goal is to recycle as much as possible so as not to create landfills at all...
